QUALCOMM FUNDRAISING - club members sign in as volunteer concession stand workers for Centerplate during the football season from August (pre-season) to January or February (if there are play-off games)
FEEDING IN TIJUANA, MEXICO - In partnership with their twin club, the "CLUB DE LEONES TIJUANA KUMIAI", club members cook a pasta dish (12 to 16 lbs. of pasta) and cross the border every 1st Monday of the month to feed anywhere from 450 to 700 homeless.
FEEDING OF THE CARPENTERS - After the 2003 firestorm in San Diego County, a Lions club was formed in Harbison Canyon with the mission to help rebuild the fire ravaged homes in their community. The volunteer carpenters still continue to work every Saturday in rebuilding these homes. In the spirit of "Charity begins at home" and "Lions helping Lions", The SD Cosmopolitan Lions Club volunteer to sponsor lunch to feed the volunteer carpenters and members of the Harbison Canyon Lions Club whenever they can.
"HEALTHFIRST" MEDICAL MISSIONS TO THE PHILIPPINES - As a way to give back to their country of origin and to help their destitute fellowmen, the SD Cosmopolitan Lions Club goes on a medical missions to the Philippines to provide general medical services, dental services and optical services including cataract operations to the destitute and needy. A $9,900.00 International Assistance Grant (IAG) from Lions Club International Foundation (LCIF) and their Qualcomm Concession Fundraising help fund their first "HEALTHFIRST MEDICAL MISSION" in May of 2006. The succeeding missions (May, 2008 and May, 2009) were funded by their Qualcomm concession fundraising alone.
